You can share the joy of Christmas this year by donating to Drogheda Homeless Aid without leaving the comfort of your favourite local restaurant.
For the month of December some of Drogheda’s finest restaurants will be participating in ‘Dine and Give’, an innovative fundraising programme run in association with the Restaurants Association of Ireland and Drogheda Homeless Aid.
Here’s how it works: Diners who eat in participating restaurants will have the option of leaving a small donation towards front line services provided to the homeless population of Drogheda when they pay their bill at the end of their meal.
There will be small information cards outlining the work that Drogheda Homeless Aid does left on each table. These will contain envelopes in which diners can deposit a donation at their own discretion.
All donations go towards frontline services Drogheda Homeless Aid provides to vulnerable members of the local community. These include a food service, preventative services for those at risk of homelessness, emergency accommodation for those who are homeless, transitional accommodation and resettlement support for those who are moving out into independent living. The hostel has been delivering dignity and hope to the most vulnerable people in our community in this way since 1982.
Drogheda Homeless Aid is extremely appreciative of the participation of local restaurants in the ‘Dine and Give’ Initiative as well as Restaurant’s Association of Ireland who have kindly endorsed the initiative.

The restaurants that have signed up to the scheme so far are: Relish (Bettystown, Laurences Street and Southgate), Baltray Golf Club, D'Vine and Bare Food Company and more are signing each day. Watch out for the envelopes and information cards.
