Drogheda Homeless Aid is looking for volunteers for their biggest fund-raiser of the year, the Annual Sleep Out, which this year takes place on December 12th and 13th.

There has been much coverage about homelessness in 2015 as the numbers of people faced by the prospect continues to rise, both nationally and at also at a local level. Drogheda Homeless Aid has worked hard throughout this crisis to maintain and add capacity to existing services.

Due to the crisis, Drogheda Homeless Aid has never been so busy and in order to maintain the level of services offered, Drogheda Homeless Aid needs the support of the local community.

“Our core operation continues to be a 25-bed hostel through which 300 people were accommodated over the past year alone” said DHA Manager Maureen Ward.

“We also offer hot meals to those living in poverty in the community and support services to prevent individuals at risk from becoming homeless.   Additionally, our resettlement team has helped 1,400 men to exit homelessness over the past fifteen years.

“We are holding our biggest fund-raiser, the Annual Sleep Out, to help raise much-needed funds to address the homeless crisis at local level and we need volunteer collectors in Drogheda and surrounding areas.

“We also need people who would consider doing the sponsored 24-hour Sleep Out – sponsorship cards are available from Drogheda Homeless Aid.  We would love to hear from you.   Contact us on or 041-983 4492 or email
